Catalyst Development Corporation was started in June of 2004. Its corporate headquarters are located in the scenic town of Hardy, Arkansas. Catalyst was co-founded by two individuals, Kent C. D. Weiand and Renee Clay-Thomas.

Kent and Renee started the company to creatively think and act to build tomorrow's great technology company. The impact of such a company would provide benefits to the state, the local community and the many families and organizations directly involved with it. While pursuing this noble goal, the co-founders realized they would be exposed to new technology, ingenious and insightful people as well as ideas. They wanted to be able to act as a catalyst for those ideas. Thus Catalyst Development Corporation was born.

Catalyst Development Corporation is currently involved in seven projects. It has invested in and is launching three new companies. Internew Corporation, Christopher's Digital Studio and an additional one to be announced in the future. Internew specializes in converting and reading electronic files and Christopher Digital Studio uses the latest graphic formats and compression methods to produce stunning mosaic photos.

Hardy is the headquarters for Catalyst not only because Kent and Renee are natives of the Hardy area but it is a great small town full of natural beauty and great people. Hardy has two rivers and over seven local lakes nearby. The town of Hardy is located in Sharp County, Arkansas. Hardy is located fifteen miles South of the Missouri border and is approximately equidistant from Little Rock, Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee and Springfield, Missouri.
