Catalyst Development Corporation is an embodiment of the entrepreneurial spirit. It was started in June of 2004. It was founded by two entrepreneurs, Kent Weiand and Renee Clay-Thomas. These two individuals understand the creative and innovative spirit that resides in entrepreneurs and their dreams. They also realize the determination and drive required to reach those dreams.

Kent and Renee started Catalyst to creatively think and act to build tomorrow's great technology company. While pursuing this goal and researching and developing their own ideas, the co-founders realized they would be exposed to new technology, ingenious and insightful people as well as many ideas. Kent and Renee wanted to be able to act as a catalyst for their own and others ideas. Thus Catalyst Development Corporation was born.

• You must have an exceptional idea, a very unique solution or compelling idea.
• You must be able to describe your idea or vision in a concise manner.
• The idea must revolve around the development and use of technology and software
• Or your idea must use technology in some core strategic way to offer a service, product or aggregate or distribute information.
• The market sector your aiming your technology, product or service at should be an existing market that is growing, an existing market that is under served or a new market that has not yet been exploited.
• You must be able to be react and create incremental improvements as your idea grows and comes to market.
• People must be willing to pay for your technology, product, service or data.
• You must be able to assemble and lead a team or have a team in place.
• You must have knowledge of your existing or potential competitors and how you will differentiate yourself from these competitors or overcome them.
• You must have the entrepreneurial qualities we have listed below.

Qualities We Look For In Entrepreneurs

We look for entrepreneurs who are exceedingly bright people, talented and not afraid to use the intelligence and talent to achieve their goals. We feel that hard work comes from energetic and loyal individuals that are held together with a strong moral character. In addition these future business leaders must be able to handle multiple things simultaneously. They must be able to deal with ambiguous situations and still select and work on the few critical factors that achieve the greatest success. Successful entrepreneurs most also be self starters with an optimism of their future.

Realistically, if you and others around you don't feel you have most, if not all, the entrepreneurial qualities listed above, you may not be a good match with Catalyst.
