Renee Thomas is a founder of Catalyst Development Corporation.
Renee serves as a Director of Catalyst. In this and other roles
at the company, she provides leadership and business insight
in the strategic direction of the company.
Prior to Catalyst, Renee played an important part in growing a multi-region grocery business,
Town & County and Price Chopper Food chain. She served in capacities
including accounting, new site construction, head of video division, head of
grocery division and culminating as Vice President and CEO. In her role
as CEO she oversaw average sales of over $100 million a year with over
1,260 employees in 22 stores. She completed her tenure with the strategic
divesture of 21 stores.
Renee and her late husband, Eddie Thomas, served as directors and were
significant shareholders in Ultima Software Corporation and played a key role during
the merger and acquisition phase of Ultima Software Corporation.
Renee currently has vast commercial real estate holdings. Her investments
include shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants and commercial
office buildings. In addition she has investments as well as participates in the
operation of various commercial businesses including a mortgage company,
grocery store, theater, commercial rice farm, multiple mini-storage sites
and a recreational campground that includes canoe rental. She is currently
developing a local commerical property with the construction of a leading
lodging chain motel on the property.
Renee is a native of the Hardy area. She graduated from Highland
High School and holds a B. S. in Marketing from Arkansas State University.
She was a member and officer of Phi Mu Sorority and Tau Beta Sigma.
Renee lives in Hardy, Arkansas with her two young daughters.
Renee sits on various boards and committees in the local area. She
donates her time to various causes including her recent participation in the construction of a memorial for community veterans. She has served on the
Arkansas State University Athletic Board of Directors since 2000. She also oversees an athletic scholarship fund setup in
memory of her late husband.
