Kent Weiand is a founder of Catalyst Development Corporation.
Kent serves as a Director of Catalyst as well as leads the
company in his role as President.
Kent has over nineteen years of experience in software development
and encompasses the complete life cycle from product conception, design,
user and business analysis, fully through beta release and ultimate
customer and market acceptance.
His expertise includes early PC and mainframe operating systems to
current Windows and Internet based systems and services including leading
edge visual rapid development tools.
Prior to Catalyst, Kent Weiand co-founded Ultima Software Corporation
of Hardy, Arkansas. During his tenure as president, Ultima grew from a
startup with a two-person operation into a multi-million dollar a
year software development company culminating with an acquisition
by Stewart Information Services Corporation (NYSE-STC), a technology
driven, strategically competitive, global real estate information
company with annual revenues in excess of two billion dollars.
Ultima Corporation is a leading developer of software for the
title industry. Kent comprised a unique team of individuals whose
commitment to quality products, quality support and overall concern
for customer satisfaction resulted in Ultima being recognized
and receiving the Discovery Award for software excellence for its
title plant software, TitleSearch. At this same time, Ultima emerged
as the nation's leading provider of title plant software servicing
clients in over twenty-eight states.
Kent also held positions of Chief Operating Officer for a real estate
developer and was the President of a receivable processing company.
Kent is a native of the Hardy area attending Subiaco Academy and Arkansas
College which is now Lyons College. Kent resides in Hardy, Arkansas with
his wife, Terri, and their four children.
Kent has contributed his time to promoting technological entrepreneurship and
education in Arkansas. He was a judge last year for the Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Development Business plan competition,
was a speaker at last years Mid-South College Computing Conference and serves
on the Computer Science Advisory Council at UALR.
